Freda believes everyone has an inner artist and if you slow down, take a deep breath and paint without judgment, that you too, will discover your inner artist. Freda will encourage you to make mindful marks, breathe and have fun while you drag the brush over your canvas! Freda curated her own art education and although she enjoys fine art she always reminds her students that she teaches fun art, not fine art! Freda was was born and raised in South Africa and is now living in Surrey, BC Canada. Freda started painting after receiving an easel as a gift in 2010 and immediately after starting to paint, she gave friends brushes to paint with her. Fast forward a few years and today thousands of people from all over the world have painted with Freda in her studio, on location in her community and online. Freda facilitates in person Painting experiences for small groups and large corporations and recently finisher her Therapeutic Arts Practitioner certification through CIIAT.

FAQ

  • What if I have never painted before?

    I will guide you step by step. Remember this is fun art not fine art and you can pause and rewatch the videos as you need.

  • How long do I have access to the classes?

    You have access to the classes for 1 year.

  • What paint do I use?

    All these tutorials are for acrylic paints. Freda uses Craft and student grade acrylic paint.

  • What brushes do you suggest?

    Synthetic hair brushes for oil and acrylics paint is what I mostly use. Each tutorial lists the paint and brushes used.

  • What canvas do you suggest?

    In most cases I paint on an 11 x 14 stretched canvas. Any pre-gessoed canvas will do. Some people paint on multi-media paper, but I have seen people paint my designs on furniture, wood, saw blades rocks and planters!

  • What happens after I register?

    Right after you register you will be able to access all the tutorials from the My Dashboard tab. Also check your spam and junk folders in case the welcome email lands there!

  • Can I teach these designs to earn an income?

    Yes, this one time sign up gives you the right to teach these 5 designs 1 time between Aug and September 2023. If you would like to teach these themes on a continued bases you will need to join Freda's small business hub. You can email [email protected] to learn more.
